The Longleat Santa Run 2009

On Sunday 6 December 2009, the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust is holding its first Santa Fun Run and we hope that you might like to get involved.

The event, which will take place in the magnificent parkland of Longleat, near Warminster, will bring together hundreds of Santas, young and old, for a short two mile fun run, jog or walk around the estate.  The course is wheelchair friendly and everyone signing up for the event will be supplied with a free Santa costume plus there will be medals for all on completion.  We hope that several hundred Santas will create a wonderful spectacle at Longleat!

Lucy Boggis, one of the UK’s brightest hopes for Olympic success in London 2012, is set to lead the event.  A young heptathlete, Lucy shot to national fame in 2008 as ‘Tempest’ in the cult television show Gladiators.  We are really delighted that Lucy will be leading the warm-up for the event.

The SSIT Santa Fun Run begins at 10.30am on Sunday 6 December with the warm-up starting at 10.15am.  Entry to the event costs just £12 for adults and £6 for children under 12 years old.  An application form is enclosed with this letter and additional forms are available to download via our website www.ssit.org.uk.   We hope that our Santas will help us further by raising sponsorship and full details of this will be sent out on application.  All funds raised from this event will help support the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre at Salisbury District Hospital and people with spinal cord injuries living in the South and South West of England.

We hope that this will be a really fun event for everyone, so please do spread the word and encourage your family and friends to take part too.  Participants will be able to buy food and drink afterwards including a hog roast provided by The Bath Arms.  So don’t miss out, send in your application today and a jolly red suit will be on its way to you very soon!

With best wishes

Seemeinaction will be on hand to capture the event and we will be donating £1.00 for every image we sell from the event.
